Review:
Black Hill being only minutes from the centre of Ballarat, is the spot for downhill in town. The tracks vary in level, and with so many sections, you can put together your own run to suit your abilities. All the tracks at Black Hill are push up runs, with a maximum 10 minute walk from the bottom to the start of the DH runs. So no need to organise a shuttle vehicle, just bring your bike and your gear and you are ready to go for the day.

There are current plans in place to build a new track, from the Black Hill lookout to the current finish line, but more news will be available very soon on this, and when build days will be coming up. Black Hill also hosts the annual King of Ballarat down hill series, that has grown from strength to strength in recent years. 2009 saw on average 100 riders attend each race, which was a great result for mountain biking in Ballarat.

For a club race to be attended so well was tremendous for all those involved and bring this event to the riders of Ballarat and Victoria. The King of Ballarat series has seen many International level riders attend, plus many riders from interstate come and attempt to defeat some super quick locals, and the racing has always been hotly contested.
